Martina Calvo and Claudia Fernández have done it again. Just a week after reaching the final of the Pretoria P1 in their first tournament together, the young Spaniards are back in another final. Two finals from two tournaments, underlining the pair’s ambitions as they prepare to take on the world No. 1s, Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea, once again – this time with the first-ever London Premier Padel P1 title on the line.

Just as they did in South Africa, Calvo and Fernández defeated the world No. 2 pair, Bea González and Paula Josemaría, this time in front of a packed Olympia London. The Spaniards came through in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4, sending out another clear message that this new partnership has its sights firmly set on the top.

Martina Calvo will have a place in the record books in her sights on Sunday. Should she win the London P1 – which would be the first Premier Padel title of her career – she will become the youngest player in Premier Padel history to lift a title, aged 18 years, one month and four days. Claudia, meanwhile, will be bidding for her first title of 2026 and the 13th of her career.

The world No. 1s, however, once again showed their champion mentality, fighting back against Ariana Sánchez and Andrea Ustero in a gruelling three-hour battle. Gemma and Delfi eventually prevailed 7-6(4), 5-7, 6-3 to reach their 13th final in 15 tournaments this season. They will now go in search of their sixth title of the year.

TENTH MEN’S "SUPERCLÁSICO" OF THE SEASON

The inaugural London P1 could hardly have a better finale than a clash between the two best pairs in men’s padel: Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia against Alejandro Galán and Federico Chingotto. It will be the 10th meeting between the world No. 1 and No. 2 pairs in the 15 tournaments played so far this season.

Sunday’s "Superclásico" promises the perfect way to bring the curtain down at Olympia London, with the ‘Golden Boys’, Tapia and Coello, bidding for their eighth title of 2026. They were in dominant form in the semi-finals, dispatching Paquito Navarro and Martín Di Nenno 6-3, 6-2 in under an hour.

Meanwhile, "Chingalán", champions at last week’s Pretoria P1, will be looking to keep their hopes of reclaiming the world No. 1 ranking alive. They saw off Juan Lebrón and Leo Augsburger 7-6(3), 6-3 on Saturday and will be aiming to head into the summer break with a seventh title of the season.
