The quarterfinal line-up at the Betclic Bordeaux Premier Padel P2 2026 will feature a star-studded field — including the top four pairs in the world in both draws — along with one major surprise: Noa Cànovas and Maria Eulàlia ‘Laia’ Rodríguez have reached their first-ever Premier Padel quarterfinals.
Noa and Laia produced a flawless performance against the #6 seeds, Marta Ortega and Martina Calvo, who never looked comfortable throughout the match. The scoreline reflected the Catalan pair’s dominance: 6-3, 6-2 in an hour and a half.
On Friday, they will look to keep their dream run alive in Bordeaux in the opening match of the day, although the challenge could hardly be tougher. Awaiting them are world #2s Bea González and Paula Josemaría, fresh off their title in Valladolid and currently the most successful pair of the season with six titles. The Spanish duo booked their place with a commanding 6-1, 6-2 win over Alix Collombon and Ksenia Sharifova.
TOP SEEDS TAKE CONTROL
The day brought very few surprises among the women’s top contenders. World #1s Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea cruised past Caldera-Goenaga with a 6-3, 6-3 victory and will now face Vero Virseda and Marina Guinart, who defeated Bidahorria-Caparrós 6-4, 6-4.
The #3 and #4 seeds also progressed. Ariana Sánchez and Andrea Ustero beat Dal Pozzo-Rodríguez 6-2, 7-5, while Sofia Araújo and Claudia Fernández came from behind to defeat Castelló-Talavan 3-6, 6-1, 7-5. Ari and Ustero will now take on Salazar-Alonso, while Sofia and Claudia face the #5 seeds, Tamara Icardo and Claudia Jensen, who eliminated Osoro-Iglesias 6-4, 6-1.
A FLAWLESS START FOR THE TOP FOUR
In the men’s draw, Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia, champions in Valladolid, delivered a dominant opening performance, dismantling Gil-Sánchez 6-0, 6-1 in just 53 minutes. Ale Galán and Fede Chingotto also progressed comfortably with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Gala-Jensen, while the #3 and #4 pairs also advanced without dropping a set: Lebrón-Augsburger claimed a pair of 6-3 sets against Ortega-Ruiz, while Yanguas-Stupaczuk defeated Chozas-Libaak 6-2, 6-4.
The world #1s will face Momo González and Lucas Campagnolo on Friday after the pair continued their strong run with a 7-6, 6-1 victory over Goñi-Alonso. Meanwhile, ‘Chingalán’ will take on Coki Nieto and Jon Sanz.
The only pair outside the top eight still standing is Juan Tello and Maxi Arce, who knocked out Javi Leal and Fran Guerrero (#7) after an intense three-set battle, 6-1, 6-7, 7-6. They will now chase a first semifinal appearance together against Stupa-Yanguas.
The final quarterfinal of the day will see ‘El Lobo’ and Augsburger face Paquito Navarro and Martín Di Nenno, who once again impressed with a dominant 6-2, 6-1 win over Jofre and Bautista.
