The Comunidad de Madrid Premier Padel P1 starts to reach the business end of the tournament. The upsets of the previous rounds were not replicated during Thursday’s play as the top seeded pairs asserted their dominance in round of 16 – with only one match going to three sets across the entire day! 

In the women’s draw, the morning matches delivered comfortable victories for Sánchez – Josemaría (#1), Triay – Fernandez (#3), Castello López – Salazar (#5) and Osoro – Virseda (#7) and it was a very similar picture across the afternoon sessions as Gonzalez – Brea (#2) continued their good form in their return and Ortega – Araújo (#4) and Riera – Goenaga (#8) safely progressed through to the quarter-final stage.

The men's competition saw a strong showing from Coello – Tapia (#1) and Cardona – Navarro (#5) in the early matches whilst there were convincing victories for Chingotto – Galan (#2); Di Nenno – Lebrón (#3); Yanguas – Stupaczuk (#4); Nieto – Sanz (#8) and Bergamini – Esbri (#12) in the remain matches. The dream also continues for Diestro – Fernandez who have reached their first Premier Padel quarter-final as a pair – following a three-set victory – where they will face the number 1 seeds in the second match on court.

 Friday’s quarter-finals are set to be a thrilling spectacle on Center Court – promising electrifying showdowns – as the powerhouse pairings across the men’s and women’s competitions fight it out for a spot in the semi-finals. Sánchez - Josemaría won't play Ustero - Alonso tomorrow, with the number one pair going straight into the semi-finals after their opponents withdrew due to Alejandra Alonso's injury.
