Paquito Navarro and Martín Di Nenno, in the men’s draw, and Tamara Icardo and Claudia Jensen, in the women’s event, will compete in the semi-finals of the Betclic Bordeaux Premier Padel P2 2026. They will do so this Saturday in a day of action starting at 1pm, alongside the rest of the tournament favourites.
Paquito and Martín had yet to reach a semi-final since reuniting as a partnership. The breakthrough came in their fourth tournament together: after quarter-final exits at the Italy Major, Valencia P1 and Valladolid P2, the Spanish-Argentine duo finally broke through and earned the chance to fight for their first final of the year.
They achieved it in conditions that suited their game and against a demanding test in Juan Lebrón and Leo Augsburger. The 6-3, 7-5 scoreline reflected a composed and complete performance that brought the Patinoire de Mériadeck crowd to its feet.
This Saturday, however, brings the toughest challenge possible: Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia. The world No.1 pair had to dig deep to secure their place in the semi-finals after a three-set battle against Momo González and Lucas Campagnolo (7-5, 3-6, 6-1).
On the other side of the draw, Alejandro Galán and Fede Chingotto progressed with a display that came close to perfection. Their 6-1, 6-3 win over Coki Nieto and Jon Sanz in just 50 minutes further strengthened their title credentials.
The No.2 seeds will now chase their 11th final of the year — from 12 tournaments played — against Mike Yanguas and Franco Stupaczuk, who produced a high-level performance to defeat Juan Tello and Maxi Arce (7-5, 6-4). In Bordeaux, they will aim to overcome ‘Chingalán’ and reach what would be their second Premier Padel final of the season.
ICARDO-JENSEN RETURN TO THE SEMIS AS TWO PAIRS BRING THEIR PROJECTS TO AN END
Tamara Icardo and Claudia Jensen are back in a Premier Padel semi-final for the first time in two and a half months. Their previous appearance at this stage came at the Brussels P2 in mid-April.
In Bordeaux, they secured their place by defeating the No.4 seeds, Sofia Araújo and Claudia Fernández, 6-4, 2-6, 6-2. This Saturday they will face the No.2 seeds, Bea González and Paula Josemaría, who claimed a 6-3, 6-2 win over Noa Cánovas and Laia Rodríguez.
‘Perlamita’ arrive in excellent form after lifting the title in Valladolid last week and claiming their seventh trophy in 12 tournaments this season. No pair has won more.
On the other side of the draw, the world No.1 pair also progressed, although with more difficulty than expected. Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea dominated the opening set against Vero Virseda and Marina Guinart, but needed a tie-break in the second to close out the match (6-0, 7-6(2)) and bring Guinart and Virseda’s run to an end.
Also saying goodbye as a partnership were ‘Las Alejandras’, Alonso and Salazar, who were beaten by Ari Sánchez and Andrea Ustero (6-2, 7-6(4)). The Spanish pair will now target a fourth consecutive final, but first they must get past Triay and Brea to keep their run alive.
