The thrilling finals of the Oysho Valladolid Premier Padel P2 are set to take place today, with both the women's and men's top pairings ready to battle for glory. The Polideportivo Pisuerga de Valladolid will host two explosive matches, showcasing some of the best talent on the international padel scene.

Women’s Final: Ari Sánchez & Paula Josemaría vs. Gemma Triay & Claudia Fernandez - 11:30h CET

The women’s final brings another chapter in the ongoing rivalry between Ari Sánchez and Paula Josemaría versus Gemma Triay and Claudia Fernandez. This will mark the 10th meeting between these two pairs in 2024, with the head-to-head record favoring Sánchez and Josemaría 5-4. The last time they met was in the Rotterdam final, where the world No. 1 duo claimed victory with a commanding 6-4, 6-4 scoreline.

One key factor in this final is that it will be played indoors, a condition that could favor Triay and Fernandez. Interestingly, all four of Gemma and Claudia’s wins over Ari and Paula have come on indoor courts. This gives them a psychological edge at the Polideportivo Pisuerga, where they hope to add another victory to their tally.

For Triay and Fernandez, this will be their 9th final of the year, and they’ve already secured three titles in 2024. Their impressive run has put them in 3rd place in terms of the most successful pairs this season, behind Beatriz González & Delfina Brea (4 titles), and Ari & Paula (7 titles).

Meanwhile, Sánchez and Josemaría are looking for their 8th title of 2024 and their 35th as a pair, which would further cement their legacy. They recently surpassed the iconic duo of Juan Lebrón and Ale Galán (33 titles), making them the 3rd most successful pair in modern padel history. A win today would place them just one title away from matching Fernando Belasteguín and Pablo Lima’s record of 36 titles.

Men’s Final: Arturo Coello & Agustín Tapia vs. Alejandro Galán & Federico Chingotto - Not before 13:30h CET

The men’s final promises to be an electrifying contest, featuring the world No. 1 pair Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia against the formidable team of Alejandro Galán and Federico Chingotto. Coello and Tapia are riding a wave of dominance, having won the last three tournaments they’ve played: Málaga, Madrid, and Rotterdam. They missed the Finland tournament, but their form has been impeccable.

Galán and Chingotto have been equally consistent in 2024, reaching the final in all 12 tournaments they’ve contested, securing five titles along the way. The head-to-head (H2H) between these pairs stands at 6-5 in favor of Coello and Tapia, with only one of those encounters occurring before a final.

Both pairs have everything to play for today. Coello and Tapia are chasing their 9th title of 2024 and their 13th overall as a duo in Premier Padel. Meanwhile, Galán and Chingotto, currently trailing by 5351 points in the rankings, will be determined to close the gap and add to their already impressive haul.

As the players prepare to take the court, Valladolid is set for an action-packed day of top-tier padel. Both finals promise drama, intensity, and world-class competition, with records on the line and history waiting to be written.
