The number #1 and #2 pairs in both draws will battle this Saturday for the title at the CIB NEWGIZA Premier Padel P2 2026. There could hardly be a better final, in terms of ranking, than a showdown between the tournament’s top duos, all arriving in strong form after booking their places in the final with straight-sets victories.

THIRD CONSECUTIVE FINAL BETWEEN THE TWO BEST PAIRS ON THE PLANET

The day will begin at 16:00 local time with the women’s final between world number 1s Gemma Triay and Delfina Brea, and the number 2 pair Bea González and Paula Josemaría. A clash that is starting to emerge as the new “classic” in women’s padel, and which will be played for the third time this year—consecutively. The head-to-head currently stands at 1-1, with Triay and Brea taking the first encounter in the Cancún P2 final, while Paula and Bea claimed their first title together recently in Miami.

The number 2 seeds booked their place in the final after defeating Ariana Sánchez and Andrea Ustero in the semi-finals, in a match where they showed almost no weakness: 6-2, 6-3 in an hour and a half to reach their second final in a row and, in Paula’s case, earn the chance to defend her title in Egypt. The Extremaduran is the only one of the four who has already lifted the iconic champion’s pyramid in NewGiza, as neither her partner Bea nor Gemma nor Delfi have ever won in North Africa.

Tomorrow’s final will be the ninth consecutive final for the world’s best pair, who will be chasing their third title of the season from five tournaments. In the semi-finals, they overcame Marta Ortega and Martina Calvo in dominant fashion (6-0, 6-3). As in their previous two matches, they took the first set without conceding a game, this time in just 17 minutes. The match became slightly more balanced after the change of ends, although Triay and Brea remained superior to close it out and reach yet another final, having dropped only six games—and no sets—throughout the tournament.

‘CHINGALÁN’ LEAD THE RACE AS ‘ALE’ TARGETS THE TITLE RECORD

It is only the fifth tournament of the year, but with Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia absent, Alejandro Galán and Federico Chingotto, after reaching their fourth final in five events, have moved to the top of the Race for the first time. It may be symbolic, but mentally it will certainly give them a boost heading into another final, where they will look to defend the title they won in 2025.

Should he win tomorrow, Galán would become the most decorated active player on the professional padel, overtaking Agustín Tapia (56 to 55). To achieve this, he must beat the ‘King of Egypt’, Franco Stupaczuk, the only player across both draws to have won the tournament twice (2022 and 2024), the latter with his current partner Mike Yanguas.

The North of Africa suits ‘Stupa’ and Mike well, and they once again gave their opponents little chance in the semi-finals, defeating Juan Tello and Edu Alonso 6-1, 6-4, bringing their partnership to an end with this defeat. ‘Ale’ and ‘Chingo’ are also showing a very high level, starting strongly against Coki Nieto and Jon Sanz. Although Nieto and Sanz managed to level the second set at 4-4, they conceded a decisive break that propelled ‘Chingalán’ into their fourth final of the season (6-3, 6-4).
